Description
This is the classic biography of Salvadoran revolutionary hero Farabundo Martí, who fought with Augusto Sandino in Nicaragua. Martí was a unionist and a key leader of the indigenous peasant uprising in 1932 that was brutally crushed in the massacre of 30,000 Salvadorans. He was captured and executed by the US-run National Guard.

About the Author
Jorge Arias Gomez was a Salvadoran lawyer, professor and historian, as well as the author of this classic biography of Farabundo Martí. He participated actively in the popular struggle to overthrow the military dictatorship of Hernández Martínez, and during the civil war in the 1980s was the diplomatic representative of the FMLN in Europe where, like many other intellectuals, he lived in exile. He died in 2002.
