About the Authors
Paisley Currah received a B.A. from Queen's University at Kingston, Canada, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Cornell University. He teaches at Brooklyn College. He has written widely on the legal status of transgender and gender nonconforming people in the US and co-edited a special issue of Sexuality Research and Social Policy: Journal of NSRC Lisa-Jean Moore earned her BA from Tufts University and her Ph.D. from UC San Francisco. She currently teaches at Purchase College. She is the co-editor of Missing Bodies, Gendered Bodies: Feminist Perspectives, and Gender and the Social Construction of Illness. She is the author of Sperm Counts. Moore lives with co-editor Paisley Currah and two daughters. Susan Stryker earned her Ph.D. from UC Berkeley and currently teaches at Harvard University. She has served as Executive Director of the GLBT Historical Society in San Francisco. She won a Lambda Literary Award for co-editing The Transgender Studies Reader and an Emmy Award for co-directing the documentary Screaming Queens: The Riot at Compton's Cafeteria.
